Dedicated to the "sleeper" in all of us!

Welcome to my web-site: THIS AIN'T YOUR DADDY'S CADDY.COM.  Well, if some of you haven't figured it out yet, this website is about a particular Cadillac that's just a little different than what the average person would expect.  But I've got to hand it to the Big three auto makers for finally realizing that serious high-performance and the modern car can coexist, not just in a concept car, but in a mass-produced product that will actually sell.  I'm sure that this approach to building, marketing & selling new cars is a good way to better compete with our European & Japanese counterparts.  Enough of this intro crap- let's get down to the nitty gritty.  It all started about 10 years ago, when I got "my doors blown off" by a 4-door Caddy SLS.  At that time, my "street cruiser" was a 68 Cutlass "S" convertible with a rebuilt 350cid.  Looking back now I just laugh about it, but back then it was a serious, mind-altering experience.  I had to find out what just happened.  I quickly found out that what led to my demise that fateful, Chicago summer night was a technology that was decades ahead of its time- NORTHSTAR.  Not to mention, when I found out that this Caddy was front-wheel drive, I just couldn't believe it.  But a believer I became.  The 300hp Northstar engine quietly made its first appearance back in 1993, and has evolved today into a "blown", 469hp monster available on the  STS-V.   But hey, why stop there- Cadillac went balls out and dropped a Corvette  LSA motor into the 2009 CTS-V for a romping 556HP!  Today, Cadillac's  2013 CTS-V, boasting 0-60 times of 3.9 seconds, is the world's fastest production sedan, period! And wouldn't you know it- My 93 Eldo "sleeper" project is  being derailed and exposed by this crazy performance renaissance bug that appears to have bitten the Cadillac nameplate, taking it from a once luxury only, "Grandpa", Sunday cruiser to an all-out modern, muscle car!

I've owned my 93 Eldo for several years now, originally purchased as a reliable means of transportation to get me to and from a new job I started back in 1998- a 72 mile, daily round-trip.  Over the past several years, I turned this first generation Northstar warrior into a valiant street cruiser.  Slowly chopping away at the factory quarter-mile times, I find myself at a fork in the road.  The whole point of this project was to create a Cadillac "sleeper" that would take most of the nostalgic, die-hard, muscle car guys and that Fast & Furious, "rice-burner" crowd by surprise.  I've got a few raised eyebrows so far, but to really complete this thing, we've got to break the 12 second barrier.  Not to mention, this whole "sleeper" concept is going to hell because Cadillac's continued push to raise the modern car performance bar higher and higher.  Before you know it, every weekend, street warrior is going to get a sniff of what's up.  I'm hoping that this website gets pretty popular as I believe that a lot of other folks out there are intrigued by this whole "sleeper" concept.  But hey, I'm still an old muscle guy at heart, I just want to do something different and contrary to the norm.  If any of you have any interesting pics or movies about your sleeper, just send me an email.  I'll also be documenting and filming time trials at our favorite race track, the Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin.  There's also other interesting links on the site for your enjoyment- I hope you find them interesting.  By the way, the goal here is to build a stock looking, daily driver that takes everybody by surprise, including the new stable of V series Cadillac stallions- your help is greatly appreciated.
